Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won multiple grants, and received numerous national and international awards. She has collaborated with a variety of government agencies and institutions across the world on research and guidelines pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). She also is a founding members of the American professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policy and Practice.
